THE REINVENTION OF INVENTERY | MAY ‘24
We're thrilled to announce that Inventery will be reopening in its full glory later this May! A massive thank you for your unwavering support during our construction phase, enduring all the noise and disruptions. We can't wait for you to experience The Garden Room, and introduce all the additional enhancements we’ve made to Inventery.
WHAT LEAD US HERE:
Having operated for over three years, our journey has been quite the adventure, marked by numerous lessons learned along the way. Initially envisioned as a casual community bar, we faced unforeseen challenges due to COVID-19, such as transitioning to table-only service, building The Yard area to accommodate outdoor trading, and the infamous "substantial meals" requirement. Recognising the need for a more robust culinary offering after the initial 18 months, we took decisive action by adding a container kitchen and bringing on board Phil, our head chef, to craft delectable small plates, brunch and lunch which proved immensely popular. However, as the restrictions (slowly) lifted, and winter approached, we faced logistical challenges such as frozen pipes in the kitchen, less demand for an outdoor space and more demand for more indoor space and a potential events space. Thus, the decision was made to expand to the rear, giving birth to our fabulous Garden Room and indoor kitchen.
After spending a lot of time chatting to our customers, we are excited to implement a few operational refinements alongside our new space, to further enhance your experience at Inventery.
BAR EXPERIENCE:
Firstly, we have updated our bar servery and main bar area, adding additional bar seating with mid-height tables, enabling our customers to enjoy a more relaxed and social environment, where as many friends or family can gather at a table for as long as they like. To ensure a warm reception from arrival, we've relocated the meet-and-greet to eliminate any barriers upon entry. Additionally, our improved design of the bar area aims to foster a genuine sense of community, so whether you’re pulling up a seat for a few pints and small plates, sharing a bottle between friends, standing for a few drinks, or bit of both, our bar area will be welcoming walk ins only, so there’s no need to worry about any other bookings booting you off your table.
As well as the new front-facing design of the bar, we have also re-designed our back bar, expanding and centralising our draft beer selection, with 7 delicious draft beers now available. Additionally, we're elevating our already impressive wine offerings. We will be keeping our cocktail menu creative and ‘inventive’, featuring our signature twists on classics, and some exciting new elixirs, too. We are not a ‘cocktail bar’, we are a Bar that does great cocktails, great beers, wines, liquor and coffee.
THE GARDEN ROOM:
To the right of our bar, lies our large, airy new space, The Garden Room. A bright new area for drinking and dining, which links to the rear garden space and our new open kitchen. This gives us not only the additional capacity we need to cater for more people during our peak periods, but also gives us the ability to host small bookable events throughout the year, without being disruptive to bar or kitchen service. Our extension also now enables all our guests to continue to enjoy music until late on weekend nights, which was previously constrained by noise restrictions in The Yard after certain hours. We're excited to reintroduce regular weekend DJs without restricting the music to a single section of the venue, ensuring the night never has to end prematurely.
KITCHEN AND GARDEN:
Having moved the kitchen container, we have now freed up the sunniest part of the garden, creating a cosy little sun trap and garden area, with new planting, furniture and lighting. We have added new gates and railings to the front, making it a safe enclosed area. Customers can expect exciting new and evolved food menus coming from the kitchen, including a dedicated bar snacks selection, and lots of new dishes, perfect for alfresco dining and drinking.
For now, we will maintain our current schedule of being open Wednesday - Sunday, with the ambition to eventually extend our hours further. We thank all our customers for their continued support and can’t wait to unveil the new and improved Inventery. We look forward to welcoming you back!
